Putaruru - Large Animal Veterinarian

  • Experienced veterinarian looking to move to the country, or already based in New Zealand and looking for a change of scenery- we may have the position for you!
  • You can immerse yourself in a varied small animal and dairy caseload in a great clinic environment.
  • There is a vehicle and the potential of accommodation available for you when you arrive.

Here in the South Waikato, we have a great range of outdoor activities at your fingertips, from hiking and mountain biking to water sports, rock climbing, a great range of golf clubs and world class equestrian facilities are some of the great opportunities right on your door step.

As a not-for-profit farmer owned veterinary club, the profits we make go back into the business, and we can focus on supporting our clients’ needs rather than on what makes the most money.

We are currently a team of four veterinarians and two veterinary nurses, a practice manager, and three receptionists. We are looking for a experienced veterinarian to join our team. Our clinic has all the bells and whistles you would expect to see in a busy rural practice; every inside aspect is new.

Our clinic consists of

  • Spacious cat ward, dog ward and isolation area.
  • Large treatment area (including a dental surgery and radiology).
  • Separate surgery plus a sterilisation area, laboratory, pharmacy and veterinarians’ office.

The caseload is mostly large animal, primarily dairy, with some equine work and a growing small animal clinic.

This opportunity would be great for someone who loves the adventure of a varied caseload and is willing to give everything a go.

Although many of our clients are happy to refer, our regional location allows us to tackle some of the more complex cases that arise. So, if you’re an enthusiastic, experienced, or new graduate veterinarian, have a good attention to detail, can be a team player and desire to perform high levels of care to your patients then we might be the team for you!

Our offer

  • Competitive Salary for veterinarians along with generous bonuses.
  • 4.5-day work week (set half-day each week).
  • After-hours (currently 1 in 4 weekends due to being shared with other vet clinic), CPD allowance and health insurance are some of the benefits included.

Sponsorship of overseas veterinarians with 12 months or more experience considered, being a multi-practice business - couple positions are also considered. For the right candidates.
