Veterinary Nurse - Taupō Clinic

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to join our team? We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to provide maternity cover for our Taupō clinic.

This is a fantastic chance to gain valuable experience in a busy and well-established clinic, providing exceptional care to our patients. You will be working with a supportive, positive, and passionate team while rotating through different tasks weekly.

Our clinical standards and attention to patient care are very high, and we expect that yours would be too.

Ideally this position requires:

• Assisting veterinarians during consultations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining equipment, instruments, and surgical areas.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and enthusiasm
• A great sense of humour
• Proven practical nursing skills including:
  - Taking blood samples, placing IV catheters, calculating drug doses and fluid therapy
  - Surgical/anaesthesia experience
  - Compassion and empathy for animals and their owners.
  - Experience caring for hospitalised patients.
  - Proficient computer skills for maintaining medical records. 

You would be responsible for booking and coordinating the daily activities of our veterinary team, as well as background administration tasks.

On top of this you would be dealing with our clients and patients at the front of the clinic daily, being a friendly, familiar face, and giving information on products and services.

The daily working hours are 8am to 5pm. Maternity Cover will start on the 2nd of October and continue for a duration of 27 weeks. Please note that the role may be extended by mutual agreement, depending on the ongoing needs of the clinic.
