Large Animal Veterinarian Te Awamutu

Vetora Waikato are looking for a newly graduated veterinarian who is passionate about dairy cattle medicine. We are a thriving club practice with several practices throughout the Waikato region. This position is based at our Te Awamutu clinic. This job is starting in early 2019.

We have a dynamic and motivated large animal team of 9 vets with a wide range of interest areas – from reproduction, mastitis, lameness and biosecurity through to laboratory diagnostics!

Our large animal client base is largely owner-operator, meaning you will be able to develop meaningful and influential partnerships to assist farmers to reach their goals. We use Infovet, and encourage proactive approaches to maximise farm outcomes.

Our club structure allows us to invest back into the business – so our clinic is modern, and the equipment up-to-date. We also have a strong commitment to professional development, and actively encourage participation in ongoing learning and development.

The after-hours roster is shared across the different practices, which lightens the load for everyone. We have an established new graduate development program, and provide a supportive environment to boost your confidence as you begin your career.

We offer our new graduates a comprehensive package, including a work vehicle, equipment and cell phone, NZVA membership and VCNZ registration paid, health insurance, subsidised income protection insurance, and salary –  plus rural bonding incentive for those who miss out. Your professional insurance is also covered by the practice VPIS policy.

Te Awamutu is a busy town in a rapidly developing area of the country, which is within easy travel distance to Hamilton (30 mins), and a range of outdoor adventures are right on the doorstep!

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic person, with a commitment to evidence-based practice, and a hunger to develop.

If this sounds like you, please apply to be part of the team:
