Vet Nurse / Receptionist (Parental Leave Cover) | Veterinary Nurse Job in Putaruru | Vetora

Vetora Putaruru is a mixed rural veterinary practice in the heart of the South Waikato, providing veterinary services to both farming and companion animal clients throughout the local community.

We’re looking for a friendly, organised and adaptable Vet Nurse / Receptionist to join our team for a fixed-term parental leave cover position.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified veterinary nurse who enjoys a varied role, working with clients and patients while supporting the day-to-day running of a busy mixed practice.

The Role

· 5 days per week

· 8:00am – 5:00pm

· Parental leave cover

· Based at our Putaruru clinic

· Dual veterinary nursing and reception responsibilities

This role will involve working across both reception and veterinary nursing, providing flexibility to support the clinic where needed throughout the day.

As the first point of contact for our clients, you’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming and professional experience for both our clients and their animals, while also providing hands-on nursing support to our veterinary team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reception & Client Care

· Welcoming clients and patients into the clinic

· Answering phones and managing client enquiries

· Booking appointments and coordinating the daily diary

· Processing payments and handling general reception administration

· Communicating with our vets, nurses and wider team

· Assisting with retail and animal health product sales

· Keeping the reception area organised and welcoming

· Providing friendly, professional customer service

Veterinary Nursing

· Providing day-to-day veterinary nursing support

· Assisting vets with consultations, procedures and patient care

· Preparing and monitoring patients before and after procedures

· Nurse consults

· Supporting the clinic with general nursing duties as required

· Helping wherever needed across the wider clinic team

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is

· A qualified and registered veterinary nurse

· Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with clients

· Organised and able to multitask in a busy environment

· Reliable and comfortable working as part of a team

· Professional and confident on the phone

· Comfortable working with both companion animals and a mixed-practice environment

· Confident switching between reception and nursing responsibilities

· Familiar with Vision veterinary practice management software is preferred but not essential
